PARAMETRIC DRAWING & DETAILING SYSTEM

The PROKON Drawing and Detailing system, PADDS, is a full-featured CAD system, which can be used for detailing of reinforced concrete, structural steel and general drafting. The system was developed with the emphasis on reinforcement detailing and is therefore geared towards detailing of flat slabs and other reinforced concrete elements. As a concrete detailing system, PADDS offers you several features that you won't find anywhere else. And then you can also use PADDS as a general CAD system or even use it to do graphical input for the PROKON analysis programs.

PADDS can be used to create input file the frame analysis programs, the finite element slab design module and the section properties calculation module. Any 2D framed structure can be drawn to scale and be traced. Different pen numbers can be used to designate different section numbers.

USING PADDS FOR DETAILING

PADDS is a multi-windowed CAD system with resizable and scrollable windows. This makes making moving around in drawings easy. The multi-windowed environment allows for the simultaneous opening of several drawings and easy transfer of information between them.

An advanced system of layers and scales, facilitating the use of different scales for different details on the same drawing sheet. Once you have set up a layer table with appropriate scales, you need never be concerned with scale again. And if you do need to change a layer's scale at a later stage, the whole layer will be redrawn to the new scale. The detailing functions built into PADDS and the automatic bending schedule creation functions of the concrete design modules, distinguishes PADDS from any other CAD systems.

Reinforcement is drawn to scale and intelligently measured and quantified by the program. Cutting lengths of standard shape codes are automatically calculated. In addition, the reinforcement mass is also totalled automatically on each schedule.

 Bending schedule are customisable. You could, for example have your company logo appear on all schedules or combine several schedules on a bigger drawing sheet.

PADDS can be used to detail any type of reinforced concrete structure. In this respect, the system is excellently suited for the detailing of, especially, flat slabs.

 

Support for your current systems

PADDS supports foreign drawings via two-way DXF and CEX translation. Support for all popular printers (A4 and A3 size) and HPGL plotters.

The outside edges of a concrete slab and finite element layout can be drawn to scale. A rectangular grid of finite elements can be created easily with the auto hatch commands. The slab geometry can then be traced at the press of a button. Complete nodal and element input is generated for the finite element slab design module, FESD.

PROSEC

Any polygon can be traced and a complete input file created for the section properties calculation module, PROSEC. This feature combined with the link to the steel section database, makes evaluation of complex composite section an easy task.
